italian version:
Liceo A. Bertolucci is a Secondary  State School which offers three different profiles:  Maths and Science, Music, Sport . It was founded  in 2007 and it counts 35 classes and about 850 students between 14 and 19 years of age. Music and Sport are new and exclusive departments which  have been introduced only recently  by the National School Reform of 2010 and are rapidly expanding.
Liceo Bertolucci  has been chosen by The National Plan for Digital Schools of The Italian Ministry of Education  as one of the most advanced institutions in the field of  digital approach. For this reason it  has become one of the 36 School 2.0  over the Italian territory and it is a regional pole for  dedicated teachers’ training.  The school  also    belongs to Avanguardie Educative (literally Educational Avant-gardes) a movement that wants to systematize the most innovative and  effective experiences of transformation of the Italian school.

In  October  2015  a Consortium of 9 European University  has chosen Liceo Bertolucci as a  valuable representative school for Emilia Romagna for the participation to the project CATCH-EyoU, a Research and Innovation Action funded by the European Commission
under the H2020 Programme.
Following the indications of the Italian National Reform, the school is also:
- teacher training  centre for C.L.I.L. (Content and Language Integrated Teaching) which has been introduced this year  for all terminal classes;
- teacher  training  centre for the use of ICT in education
- teacher  training  centre Project Innova 2014

The school building, which is very new, is located near the town centre of Parma, next to three other secondary technical and vocational schools.
The aim of the school is to fulfill the potential of each individual student and to do so in a safe and caring environment that aims at the highest international standards. Its objective  is to develop the individual talents of young people and teach them to relate the experience of the classroom to the realities of the world outside. Strong emphasis is placed on the ideals of international understanding and responsible citizenship, to the end that pupils may become critical and compassionate thinkers, lifelong learners and informed participants in local and world affairs, conscious of the shared humanity that binds all people together while respecting the variety of cultures and attitudes that makes for the richness of life.

Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace im. P.Skargi in Grojec is an upper secondary school preparing students aged 15-18 for university education. The main profiles which the school offers are: maths-physics-ICT, biology-chemistry, maths-geography, humanities, geography-economics.

The school, founded in 1912, is one of the oldest in the district of Grojec and in the whole Mazowiecke Province. The school is situated in a small town of Grojec (about 17 thousand inhabitants), which makes it easier to be in touch with parents in order to deal with matters immediately. The surrounding area of Grojec is mainly a fruit-growing area located in the centre of Poland, 40 km south of Warsaw.

There are 45 full-time teachers and about 500 students in the school. Its students come from different social backgrounds, many come from rural areas. They often need to be strongly motivated to take an active part in school life. There are a few clubs and organizations at the school, e.g. Red Cross, Volunteers' Club or Students’ Sport Club. The school has been a co-organizer of a national English song festival for the last nineteen years and has coordinated or participated in several extremely successful Comenius and Erasmus+ projects since 2010. Still, its students need additional, multicultural activities so that they can be more actively involved and cooperatemore willingly, understanding the importance of their cultural roots and respect for different sociocultural backgrounds. The students feel the need of, and have deep interest in, learning about other cultures and making friends with students from abroad.

In 2015 the school underwent a thorough external evaluation in three fields and received a very high score for its high external exams scores and quality of teaching (ABB). The cooperation with a variety of institutions (e.g. Warsaw University of Technology, Central Mining Institute, Warsaw Smog Alert, local authorities) lets our school be in contact with those that can contribute to the „Impossible becomes possible” project by providing useful information on the discussed issues. However, theschool has not tried to deal with such problems in collaboration with the local community yet. That's why we are sharing experience with other European schools in order to learn from each other and establish long lasting cooperation.

The school curriculum includes some aspects of environment protection, entrepreneurship and health education but we feel this is not enough. Thus, we are trying to correlate the steps taken in the project with the agenda of events at school as well as enrich the curriculum.

The 2nd Lyceum of Kos is  an upper secondary state school with 260 students and 35 teachers and is situated in the border island of Kos. Kos which  is located in the south-eastern Aegean Sea.

Our school possesses library, ICT lab, physics and chemistry labs, gym and an open football course 5x5 with plastic floor rug currently under construction. It prepares students, aged 15 to 18, for university education in science, economics and humanities.

Our pupils are well-motivated and have high-achieving goals.  In addition, our school has a clear intention to provide international influences, such as student and teacher trainees exchange and teacher trainers from universities, to create various arenas for language- and interdisciplinary collaborations in projects using ICT and digital forums. In addition, we aim to create the opportunity for personal meetings with students from other countries and study trips to implement the learning of democratic and ethic values. It is a central policy in our school that pupils must develop good knowledge of foreign languages, linked with key competences for employability such as ICT skills, creativity and team-work, in order not only to increase their chances of finding good jobs in the future but also to acquire basic knowledge, common to educated persons and the capacity to expand that base over their lifetime so that they develop an integrated personality.

The students of our school come from different social backgrounds. Some are immigrants from countries of East Europe. We have students with different religions. Most of our students are Christian but we also have a minority of Muslim students. Although our students have the opportunity to communicate and contact with people from other countries (Kos is a tourist resort), we feel it is very important for students in this mixed community to begin to see themselves as citizens of tomorrow’s Europe, and to see Greece in the wider context of diversity within a common European heritage.

Furthermore, by promoting contact with European countries, we aim to acquire a deep knowledge of various educational systems, methods and teaching tools as well as to create cooperations. Through this process our goal is to give the students stimuli so as to become more tolerant of various cultures.

Our international projects and activities are the following:

In 2007 a YOUTH program our school coordinated was a project named MEDICULTE and it was an itinerant involving 4 partners from the Mediterranean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PixFGTnLxDs

http://2lyk-ko.dod.sch.gr  (in Greek)

During 2013-2015 we participated in a Comenius project with 11 other countries (http://comenius.logrojec.pl/) related to the European Citizenship.

During 2014-2016 we coordinated an Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership (school to school) in the field of education, named Safe Internet For All (SIFA). Have a look at our project’s website if you like: http://www.sifaplus.eu and the project description: http://www.sifaplus.eu/en/the-project  SIFA was the highest scoring among hundreds of applicants and the first project of its kind to be approved in the field of education in Greece. The Greek National Agency (IKY) presented the SIFA Erasmus+ project as an excellent project example and the coordinator of the project lectured about project management to teachers from all over Greece. IKY also invited the project coordinator to present SIFA as an example of good practice for KA2 projects in an International Conference in Bonn Germany 17-19 May 2017.

Our school, continuing its productive field of activity, the development of good practices and cooperation with other European schools within the framework of planning, organisation and application of ERASMUS+, participated in more KA2 programs since 2016. One called “European students’ Climate Report” (agreement 2016-1-SE01-KA201-022171) focused on the creation of a framework to help teachers and students to work on the field of universal temperature and the climatic changes which take place. Besides our school, five European schools from Sweden, Slovakia, France, Italy and Spain took part in the program. The program worked under the supervision and help of special researchers and two organisations of the University of Technology of Lullea, a town of Sweden, and the organisation for the prevention, the environment and energy conservation as well, in the area of Emilla-Romagna in Italy. Program site: https://www.studentsclimatereport.eu/.

Another program in which our school participated dealt with the issue of immigration. The idea behind the program was to sensitize the participants to the challenges they are asked to face living in a multicultural society and to search for effective solutions on this matter. The knowledge and understanding of the perennial phenomenon of immigration formed the basis so that the students, equipped with the appropriate tools, played an active role and hopefully will make the right decisions in the future for the benefit of the society. What is more, this program encouraged dialogue between students of various cultures and was part of the school benefits which arised from a deep research on the issue of immigration. The title of the program was “We are all immigrants of this world” (agreement 2016-1-PL01-KA219-026099-4) and it sent the optimistic message of the understanding of the relations shaped in today’s multicultural Europe Project site: http://www.weareallmigrants.eu/

Moreover, it is worth mentioning that our school was awarded twice with the third place in educational robotics competitions among all Greek schools.

Our website is working only in Greek, but we will introduce English pages as well (http://2lyk-ko.dod.sch.gr/).

IES PARE VITORIA

ALCOY (ALICANTE), SPAIN

The high school is located in Alcoy, province of Alicante. Our town has 60000 inhabitants. Alcoy is a city with a valuable historical, architectural, archaeological and industrial heritage. Historically, it was a city with special relevance in the Industrial Revolution, especially in the textile sector, but also in the metallurgical and paper industry.

The Secondary Education high school "Pare Vitoria" was founded in 1929, becoming the second high school created in the province of Alicante.  Our school is a public institution which has around 700 students and 74 teachers.

We are an educational institution committed to the quality of education, in which we develop programmes for students with special educational needs and also for students with high capacities. We have also belonged to the network of UNESCO centers since 2004. Issues such as respect for human rights, eradication of poverty, collaboration among nations, sustainable development and dialogue between cultures permeate the daily teaching practice.

Our center has a long history in the implementation of new models and educational tools aimed at improving the different skills of our students.

In 2015, it was decided  to use digital contents in the first cycle of secondary school with the aim of enhancing learning through new technologies, so that students acquire skills in an active and collaborative way through different digital tools. Therefore, the use of the tablet was introduced to replace the textbook in this cycle. This has allowed us to open a range of possibilities to explore in terms of the teaching and learning process.

Another of the strategic lines that defines our center is multilingualism.  The center's effort to promote the learning of English and French has been made evident through various school exchanges. The center's teaching staff has shown a continuous interest in updating their linguistic competence.

In fact, a high percentage of the members has been training to increase their knowledge of English. Thanks to this, the students have been able to carry out research projects using English as one of the vehicular languages.

Finally, another structural change that began in 2011 is the constitution of a team composed of students and teachers, in order to improve coexistence and peaceful resolution of conflicts in the center.

In summary, we can affirm that our educational community has already carried out a large number of projects and activities that are in line with the goals of Erasmus +. These actions enhance multilingualism, pedagogical renewal, the establishment of the community and the improvement of interpersonal relationships inside and outside the classroom.

Although we participate and innovate in different educative fields,we aim at achieving a broader experience in involving our students in the social community, carrying out projects that can benefit other citizens or the city itself. This KA-229 project contains the elements that may help us integrate our work in the high school with relevant issues such as promoting active citizenship and developing early entrepeneurship among our students. The international collaboration will let us tackle different areas of work (pollution, good practices in the field of new technologies, adolescent depression and preservation and dissemination of culture). As all the countries involved pursue the same objectives, the collaborative work will lead to a number of activities from different perspectives that can help us to broaden our vision.
